Let's
take a quick look at what can be done with your own
product.
My journey into Internet Marketing was
very much influenced by that nastiest of words-----the
ECONOMY! There probably is
not very many people who do not equate that word with a
substantial decrease in income, followed by a
significant increase in expenses! Well, being almost as
old as dirt, disabled from physical labors, yet not
quite ready to curl up and die, I had to do something!
While I was mostly self-employed throughout my working
career I could no longer perform those functions which
would earn me any money worth speaking of. So, the
computer became my best friend in my search for
additional income.
Naturally all the "guru's" pointed me in the
direction of affiliate marketing their products for
them. Ever wonder why they pay up to 75% commission on a
sale of their stuff? Such an attractive number, isn't
it? Take a short stroll through Clickbank's marketplace
and you are inundated with hundreds (thousands) of
digital material you can sell and create that needed
SUBSTANTIAL income! All you need do is write articles,
buy PPC advertising, post on a never-ending list of
marketing forums, create a landing page or two, join
Squidoo and make a lens or two (or ten or twelve!),
create a Hub page or eleven, and then when you have the
time---isn't there another article or two that you
should be submitting to a few dozen directoies to
improve your traffic flow?
The
guru? While this is going on he is busy creating another
product. This means that as you are spending your time
and money promoting HIS product, he is brainstorming
with his partner about what else they can place on the
market for their affiliates. Sure, he is paying out a
large percentage of each sale to the one doing the work,
but when there are hundreds of affiliates selling---and
they each sell a few per week or month what happens to
his income? That's right!
As an affiliate I have cashed more
than one check from Clickbank. I have received more than
one payout through PayPal for various affiliate
programs. I have cashed checks from more than one CPA
Affilaite Network. The income HAS been available to me
through marketing---but something was DARNED SURE
MISSING! I did not feel full filled with what I was
doing. Something was missing. That is, something was
missing more that the great feeling of creating as sale
(always for someone else's ebook, marketing course, or
set of videos!)!
Down I sat myself and
within days I now have a couple of products for sale on
line. The very first of these is www.mySEOsecrets.com,
now online for a short period of time. Now, there is no
way I can say that when I got out of bed the first
morning my inbox was full of PayPal deposit notices.
There are a few. There is almost as many from the sale
of this book as there are from affiliate accounts.
The
difference?
Well,
my day still consists of writing articles. I still visit
most of the forums that I am a member of, and when I
have something intelligent to say I post on these
forums. I still have some of those ppc accounts,
although not using them right now. And I still cruise
the marketplace at Clickbank and PayDotCom. The
difference is that while I am doing these things I, my
efforts are going to the sale of MY PRODUCTS. And when
the sales improve a bit I will have a list of affiliates
that will market this for me. Of course, they are going
to take quite a bit of my profit, but let me ask you
something?
As
an affiliate you can get that fantastic 75% commission
on each sale. You also get to pay the invoices for your
PPC "spendings", for any traffic you purchase and direct
towards your products, and of course you always are
thinking about competition. Isn't it obvious that the
more profitable and popular a digital product becomes
the more it attracts affiliates to promote it? Yep...you
strive to make an ebook popular and your reward is
increased work and cost to promote as the affiliate list
grows and grows (and GROWS!) Now you know why all the
gurus keep developing products.
After
all, isn't 25% of something much easier to accept than
75%? Your first answer might be no---but that 25% comes
to you through the actions of another. And as those
"another's" keep increasing so does the number of times
your recieve that 25%!
Your product is yours.
It is an asset. The only way it will go away from your
control is when you sell it for a LARGE profit! Then you create
another, sell, create another, sell it---have I said
this enough times? An often stated quote in Internet
Marketing is---"Find something that you are passionate
about. Research until you find what sells and what it
takes to sell it----then "rinse and repeat"!
THAT IS HOW PROFITS COME YOUR
WAY!
I have created
three products now, and expect to add at least 2-3, or
more, per month. All mine! Sounds selfish? Not a bit. I
am happier, have less stress, sleep better and find that
the writer's block I suffered from while working for
others is GONE!
